The 3D printed arm that is semi transparent and black, is a very cool showpiece. It is made using a technology called material jetting. The material is initially in liquid form and when it is “sprayed” onto a surface it solidifies. What is really interesting about this machine is its capability to use 2 different materials, so the transparent parts and black parts on that arm were made at the time. We hope to be able to print silver along with the plastic, so we can have electronics inside the arm from one manufacturing method.

That arm would have taken a whole day to print.
