Back in highschool I very much wanted to work with heart prosthetics. For university I applied for bioengineering and tried to steer my life as much in that direction.

However in my 3rd year of university, I was part of a team that built a robot hand which was controlled with infrared sensors. One thing lead to another and I continued to work on various “hand” projects. Luckily I find robot hands cool so I’m not too fussed that I didn’t end up doing what I wanted to do 8 years ago.

Geeky answer: I essentially get to make automail which is awesome (see Fullmetal Alchemist)
